• Compile a list of 15 names per team. The names you select must be famous in their own right, not relatives of famous people. The picks must be real people that are still alive. No cartoons, animals, or Elvis. Also, no one on death row on February 1, 2012.
  • Rank the list giving the most likely stiff 15 points and your healthiest person one point. When submitting the list, clearly mark the point value you are assigning to each person.
  • There will be one bonus pick per team worth 20 points. This will be your "so young but so dead" pick, this person is someone under the age of forty on February 1, 2012.
  • Starting at midnight February 1, 2012 and ending the second before midnight December 31, 2012 (Central Time), whenever someone on your list dies you get the points you assigned. Whichever team has the most points at the end of the year wins 75% of the total collected; second place receives 15% of total; and, third place receives 10% of total. Ties at any level would split the percentage.
  • Missing does not count.
  • Compiled lists are due at the end of business January 25, 2012.
  • Multiple teams may be submitted. Groups of people can submit one team. One person from the group needs to be identified as the representative.
  • If someone from a team dies before February 1, a replacement would need to be chosen. You will be notified by Dead Pool 2012 staff.
  • Every team must have a team name, contact name, address or e-mail address, and phone number. It is a contact's responsibility to notify Dead Pool 2012 staff of any changes to the contact information throughout the year.
  • A master list of teams will be made available sometime after lists have been received and reviewed. Upon the death of a famous person listed on a team, each team, plus some curious observers, will be notified.
  • When the lists of teams and the list of celebrities are made public, each participant will have the opportunity, within a given date range, to verify the correctness of their list(s) or the "celebrity" status of other picks. If a participant feels that a selection is not famous enough, the name should be submitted to Dead Pool 2012 staff. The pick will then be put before all participants for a vote on the celebrity status. Each team has one vote - majority rules. If the selection is denied by the group, the submitting team will have the opportunity to replace the pick on their list.
  • Any rules not covered here will be decided by the contacts of each team, majority rules, one vote per team.
